From May 20-22, 2021 we will reunite wine enthusiasts’ minds and palates to celebrate the greatness of Chardonnay. One of the world’s most beloved, dynamic, and delicious grape varieties. This inaugural gathering will feature some of the finest domestic and international producers of Chardonnay and will take place at the Meritage and Vista Collina Resorts. Learn from experts, savor gourmet dining, explore the world of Chardonnay, and soak in the iconic Napa Valley.
The Chardonnay Classic offers guests expertly crafted tastings like no other. Join the Saturday Around the World With Chardonnay seminar to taste some of the greatest examples of Chardonnay from vineyards all over the world. SommFoundation guest speakers will use their mapping tool SommGeo to transport you directly to the vineyards virtually. You will taste a stunning collection of old and rare Chardonnay, from far away and close places. Master Sommeliers and Board Members of SommFoundation Jay Fletcher, Jay James and Thomas Price will take you on this virtual tasting journey. If you love chardonnay, this world tour is not to be missed! This tasting encompasses 10 featured wines, including 2005 Louis Latour Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, 2012 Pol Roger Blanc De Blanc Champagne, 2018 Gaja “Rossj – Bass”, and 2017 Domaine Serene “Evenstad Reserve”.
SommFoundation is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, their mission is to assist wine and spirits professionals to achieve the highest level of proficiency and accreditation in the food and beverage industry. They provide enrichment opportunities and scholarships to sommeliers, restaurant professionals, wine journalists, and winemakers to further their knowledge about the world of wine and spirits.

The Chardonnay Classic will benefit the SommFoundation in an effort to support the wine industries next generation of service professionals. These funds will be used to award scholarship opportunities and help offset educational costs for students within the Sommelier, Master of Wine, and professional beverage community. Guests may also elect to donate directly to the SommFoundation. These young professionals were heavily impacted by the pandemic, and financial contributions will help them get back on track. Help the next generation flourish!
